The latest eShop games, demos, and DLC releasing this week in North America.
It’s the second week of January 2018, which marks the second wave of new Nintendo releases for the new year, and IGN has gathered a list of the latest eShop releases of the week for Nintendo Switch and Wii U in North America.
Furi is a fast-paced Hack and Slash, twin-stick shoot’em up, action game that’s entirely made up of challenging boss battles. The game takes place in a set of closed world environments, with minor exploration segments between each fight that reveals key plot points. Much of Furi’s story progresses through these interactions, along with fully animated cutscenes occurring typically before and after every boss encounter.
Super Meat Boy
Super Meat Boy is a tough as nails platformer where you play as an animated cube of meat who’s trying to save his girlfriend (who happens to be made of bandages) from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux. Arriving first with the Switch version is a brand new way to play Super Meat Boy with friends; Race Mode. Race Mode allows you to play with friends using split screen through individual chapters, randomized levels, or the entire game.
The Escapist 2
Being in prison forces you to be creative and work with the limited tools at your disposal. You’ll have to combine everyday objects like soap and socks to craft new weapons and tools to help you achieve your goal. Team up with up to 3 friends to create the ultimate online escape crew and engineer the wildest escapes yet. By working together, you’ll be able to create even more complex and daring plans. That said if competitive play is more your thing, you’ll also be able to dive into versus mode and prove that you’ve got what it takes to break out of any prison faster than your friends can.
Draw a Stickman: EPIC 2
Imagination is the key, as you enter a magical storybook land full of mystery and wonder, unusual creatures and mysterious puzzles. Create your own personalized stickman and watch it come to life. As you explore each colorful environment, you’ll be able to choose from an assortment of drawing pencils and tools to help you successfully overcome every obstacle along the way. New features and enhancements in this version allow you to choose from a broader color palette, along with a variety of pencil sizes.
Heavily inspired by the Bomberman series, BRAWL pits you up against three opponents in an all-out explosive free for all. With eight unique characters, each with a rich backstory and a surprising plot-twist, you’ll be able to fight your way to the end using a variety of different play styles. From pure brutality as a Wrestler to hiding in shadows as an elusive Thief. BRAWL also features local multiplayer with up to four players and over 20 maps filled with environmental hazards to battle your friends on
Azkend 2: The World Beneath
Azkend 2 is a casual match-three puzzle game with more than 60 levels of impeccably polished gameplay. Discover and equip more than a dozen unique powerups, and complete hidden object minigames on your journey. Azkend 2 features three game modes: Adventure, Time and Medals.
Energy Invasion an arcade game inspired by the classic Breakout. Unlike the original game, your ball does not break blocks on its own but can launch missiles in a chosen direction. The game features 25 levels in “Invasion” mode, 25 levels in “Linear” mode, as well as an “Endless” mode.
Moorhuhn Knights & Castles
Moorhuhn Knights & Castles features an extensive 36-part campaign with challenging battles taking place in the Scottish Highlands, an icy landscape, and lava-spewing volcanoes. Fit out the seat of your clan to build a mighty and prestigious fortress, and upgrade it continuously with better weapons and defense facilities. Start building up your castle and developing the best strategy, and you’ll get a free Feature Pack with several multiplayer options releasing Spring 2018.

Of MICE and SAND -REVISED- puts you in charge of a desert craft and its rodent crew. Brave an alien planet, and turn your squeaking subordinates into first-class shipmates, all in the name of adventure!
Rally Racers: Where road rage becomes raging fun!
Rally Racers is an action-packed family racing game that’s fast and furious fun for all. Cars bash and battle each other to racing glory, picking up special weapons, boosts, recruiting racemates from the opposition team, performing stunts, and completing challenges to be first over the finish line.
Wii U eShop
Jolt Family Robot Racer
Jolt is a fast-paced, party racing game that’s all about maintaining momentum and skillful navigation. Players compete to be the last robot standing. Using a charged burst of speed called the JOLT, and an array of different objects in the environment; your goal is to outperform or outright sabotage the other racers. Eliminated players are down but not out through the use of the VOID, a random Sabotage Power-Up that allows players to initiate revenge and change the outcome of the race! Jolt Family Robot Racer also offers local Multiplayer racing with up to four players.
